We at Eden understand there are many approaches to achieving health and wellbeing. That is why we offer an integrated approach to our clients. We incorporate many treatment options to creat a unique program that will meet your individual needs. All of our retreats at Eden include our core treatments of nutritional education, bowel reprograming, and mental, emotional and physical therapy. Our focus is on natural medicine and we incorporate western therapies when necessary.

Core Treatments:

Nutritional Education– The basis of our nutritional program incorporates five element theory from Oriental Medicine and combines it with a nourishing and clean eating approach to dietary choices. What that means is that we take into account your constitution, element, allergies, and individual needs and create a custom meal plan that will nourish and/or cleanse your body. Our menu is based on local, organic and seasonal foods combined with super foods, herbs, and juice fasting when necessary. We find what foods work best for your individual needs and help teach you how to prepare those foods and incorporate them into your lifelong diet.
Bowel Reprograming– Research is showing that up to 60% of our immune system is dependent on the health of our intestines. If the intestines are not functioning properly not only are we prone to disease but we are unable to fully absorb the good nutrition we may be eating. At Eden we use a variety of treatments to restore proper bowel function and assist the body in detoxifying and processing foods and nutrients. We do this through colonics, juice fasting, integrative medical treatments, detox methods and more.
Mental, Emotional and Physical Therapy– The way we feel about our lives mentally and emotionally has a direct impact on our health. Also mental and emotional health can be greatly improved through physical excercise. At Eden we use a variety of approaches to focus on these areas of life and help our participants create a life plan that will keep them feeling healthy in all aspects of life. We achieve this with a combination of life coaching, journaling, EFT, mindfulness classes, the work of Byron Katie, meditation, yoga, qi gong, nature hikes, earthing, and more

Oriental Medicine-There are many modalities in Oriental Medicine, (OM) including acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, moxibustion, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, massage, cupping, and Gua Sha, to name a few. Just as there are many modalities, there are many theories that OM uses to show us how to live in harmony with the universe and explains the progression of disease and treatment principles. One of the theories you will learn about in depth is the Five Element Theory. This theory takes the natural forces of fire, earth, metal, water and wood and applies them to the body. For example, the earth element represents the fertile soil where our crops should be grown, it also encompasses the organs of digestion and their ability to absorb vitamins and minerals properly to help grow a strong body and mind. The fire element is connected to the heart, cardiovascular system and feelings of joy and passion in one’s life. Oriental Medicine helps us to see all the different things in our world are really just parts of the same whole.
Herbal Medicine is a primary branch of OM. We at Eden treat many of our patients with herbal medicine through a combination of powerful soaks and internal formulas to help reboot and rejuvenate your system. Online consultations for Oriental Medicine and Herbology are available upon request. Feel free to contact us for further information or to set up an appointment.
Due to the sheer weight of evidence as to the effectiveness of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine it has become widely accepted around the world as a valid treatment option. There are many paths to wellness and we invite you to join us to learn some tools to live your best life.
Acupuncture is just one of the many facets of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Oriental Medicine (OM). It is a process by which points are stimulated along energy channels (also called meridians) that run along the surface of the body. These points are where energy from the body wells to the surface and is more accessible by stimulation from either pressure or the insertion of a thin needle. Stimulating these points can have a direct effect on the area where they are located or they can treat other regions and organs in the body. The entire body is a cohesive unit that functions or dysfunctions based on its inner connectedness. Acupuncture was created to help maintain balance so the body is able to function optimally to prevent disease. When a person is out of balance and disease arises, acupuncture can be very effective at getting things back on track and healing the body.
Acupuncture was developed during a time of relative peace among the humans of that era so the medicine evolved to take a more balanced approach that advocated living in harmony with one’s self and nature to prevent disease instead of treating symptoms as they arose. However, as humans evolved and villages grew, people became more disconnected with nature and themselves and from that many diseases began to arise. Thankfully acupuncture and Oriental Medicine were able to evolve as well and provide treatments and solutions to these very modern problems. Today, our current society has continued to evolve in a similar fashion. For the first time in history more people are living in densely populated cities than in the rural countryside.
This shift has caused an even greater disconnect between humans and the earth we inhabit. Also, with the major increase in technology in the past few decades, there has been even more disconnect from our fellow human beings and our own bodies. We no longer have an inherent understanding of our bodies and how to be healthy, instead we rely on diagnostic equipment to tell us how we are feeling. Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine provide effective treatment for the diseases that plague modern humans as well as teach us how to live in harmony with nature and ourselves.

Vitamin IV Therapy– Many people are deficient in essential vitamins and minerals, most supplements are of poor quality, and the recommended dosage of vitamins are designed to avoid disease and are well below the bodies requirements for optimal health. In addition to our other modalities you can add a high quality vitamin C IV and B complex injections to your retreat.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy or PRP is a way of concentrating and utilizing the bodies own healing mechanisms to stimulate the healing process. The body’s first response to soft tissue injury is to deliver platelet cells. Packed with growth and healing factors, platelets initiate repair and attract the critical assistance of stem cells. PRP therapy’s natural healing process intensifies the body’s efforts by delivering a higher concentration of platelets. To create PRP therapy, a small sample of your blood is drawn (similar to a lab test sample) and placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds, separating the platelets from the other components. The concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into and around the point of injury, jump-starting and significantly strengthening the body’s natural healing signal. PRP can also be used in anti-aging treatments as well. Think of it as mother natures botox. Because your own blood is used, there is no risk of a transmissible infection and a very low risk of allergic reaction

Hydrotherapy/ Spa– Using water to heal ourselves dates back to the roman times and beyond. Water is a powerful and persistent element that when used in the correct way, can provide quick and effective healing. Our retreats use the healing power of water in many ways to find what works best for your individual needs. Our highly trained staff specializes in a full spa menu, including skin care, cleansing facials, body scrubs, enveloping herbal wraps, and micro dermabrasion. Book a treatment with us and we will tailor make a skin care program especially for you.

Oxygen And Ozone Therapy– One of the best way to counteract the effects of inflammation, free radical damage, and a toxic environment is through an increased utilization of oxygen. There are a number of ways to do this and you will have the opportunity to experience many of these therapies as part of your retreat. At Eden Retreat Center we offer ozone therapy, guided meditations, and breathing exercises to help your body utilize oxygen more effectively.

Light and heat therapy– For centuries light and heat have been used to treat a variety of health problems. At Eden Retreat Center we continue to blend ancient techniques with modern technology to create a truly effective treatment protocol for our clients. Our light and heat treatments include infared therapy, hot stone massage, saunas, sun gazing and moxibustion.
